This physical cable is very good build quality as is all other Vmoda products. Good quality packaging as well.Being new to iPhone and iOS, coming from Android...it is a challenge to find anything that works with Apples hardware. I use a Fiio Aplen 2 E17K DAC and at time a Fiio BTR3 for Bluetooth HD audio, both with a set of AKG dual driver IEMs, and my Vmoda Crossfade Wireless (1st gen in wired mode) full sized headphones.Having bought the $9 Apple tiny white Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, and a $19 Anker branded one (that only reviews claim has a better DAC and thus sound quality) from the same retail store, comparing those to with my headphones, zero difference.Did some research online and came across this VMODA Apple Lightning to 3.5mm DAC/cable and thought it must be good. Love VModa.Comparing this, side by side, with the official $9 APple adapter, very minimal difference in audio. You would not really notice it unless you did a side by side compare really. This cable, direct connected to my Vmoda headphones, or the Fiio DAC AUX in to which headphones connect to that, there is slight improvement in the bass range, tiny bit more balance and clean bass response and also a slight high range clarity. Suspect that the DAC inside, as VMODA does their "Signature sound" profile, is to program EQ to give a slight bass and treble boost (hence the "V" i guess". Yes, it is there. most noticeable in EDM and very bass heavy music. But again, the effect is very slight, maybe +0.5db max a tweak on the low and high end.Tests were done using a iPhone XR on iOS 14.6. With Apple Music, local library of files, FLAC/WAV converted to Apple Lossless. Also FLAC native playback with Foobar2000 app with no app level audio tweaks set).Overall, yes, ever so slight better overall clarity and balance, with lower distortion at high volumes. But, its so slight, maybe 5%, it for sure is not worth the $99 Vmoda direct sells this for.But for $24 current Amazon listed price is, along with how high physical quality the cable itself is, for sure, I would recommend it. Just don't expect it to give you amazingly obviously superior sound quality over any other cheapy adapter.Provides a real, but very minor improvement in sound quality. Worth $100? Extremely debatable.Provides a very slight improvement in amplification. That in itself will improve perceived sound quality with some (mostly power hungry) applications. It is inexplicable that this cable terminates in an 1/8" TRS male - it is intended to be used as a cable replacement with a pair of headphones with a replaceable cable, which is a small-ish category. If the manufacturer would simply include a very inexpensive 1/8" TRS F to 1/8" TRS F adaptor, you could use it with any pair of headphones you want. As it is, you'll have to provide your own. At this price range it is something they should include.Only for the hardcore, or those attempting to solve a very specific problem. While buying the V-Moda headphones for Bluetooth listening, which has a great sound when using my Android music player, my iPhone 8 just wasn’t of the same quality. As I had also found myself using the standard 3.5 mm supplied with the headphones with my Xbox and Android player, and liking the improved audio quality it made, I decided to try this on the iPhone. What a wonderful improvement in the sound it has made - so much so, that I use the Bluetooth only on my Android device now and prefer this wired connection to my iPhone for most listening. The microphone doesn’t work when I use it for a phone call. The MiC is very good. The controls buttons are not flimsy, very sold. The cable is well crafted. I am not hearing a difference in sound quality when using iTunes.Makes my vmoda crossfades 2 louder.much louder than the cable that comes with it.Very powerful amp. Worth every pennie.i connected it to my stereo receiver.using My iPad music sounded livelyReal nice wide stage.of midrange.real present of separation of left and right channels. I see why this cable sells out quick. It’s worth 100$. Or higher.Great option so you could use the earphones when they have no battery charge.Between my wife and I, we have broken 3 of these cords. The lightning connector is barely held in the housing by a thin line of glue. Couple that with the length of the plastic housing and you can break off the connector with little effort. Two ripped out completely. The third just stopped connecting. V-Moda replaced two of them, but it really isn't worth our time anymore. It's a shame because the cord looks great, sounds lovely, and has great functions when it isn't broken. I hope they come out with a second generation that fixes the connector. Until then, I strongly recommend you use their AUX connector version with an Apple lightning adapter. It doesn't look as pretty, but you don't have to constantly worry about breaking it.Prodotto con cura nei particolari e con materiali ottimi, ottimo il dac e il microampli entro contenutiHanno cambiato ‘voce’ al mio IPhone 11.
