I hate renting my network equipment from my internet provider, preferring to own my own and have more control and selection over what I'm getting. With that, however, comes the need to protect my equipment. I've lost a modem and a router in the past due to power surges, and this little device is the next (final?) addition to my protection plan.I had to make sure that the signal bandwidth coming into my cable modem didn't exceed the bandwidth of this device. A quick google search for "xfinity cable frequency range" shows that the signal operates between 10MHz and 1000MHz (AKA 1GHz), so the 2400MHz range of this surge protector is more than enough.After installation, I've run speed tests upstream & downstream, and I can't really tell any difference compared to what I was getting without the device. With that assurance out of the way, I'm very happy with this device protecting my equipment, at least from surges coming through the feed from the curb!
